Software Advice Mobile Proxies for FrontRunners and Listing Checks

Software Advice sits between a software buyer and a shortlist. The buyer reads a category page, looks at the FrontRunners chart, skims reviews and often fills in a short form that connects them to an advisor who recommends vendors by phone. Vendors pay per qualified lead and buy placement on the category pages. Which vendors show, in what order, with which badges, and which advisor flow the buyer is offered all depend on the buyer's region, and the US is the market that matters most to the vendors listed. Dedicated Mobile Proxies gives a vendor, or its agency, a US carrier modem used by nobody else, so the reading is a US buyer's and the vendor account keeps a stable origin.

The parts of Software Advice that depend on where you are

Software Advice serves regional editions and picks one from the visitor's address. Pricing on product profiles is shown in local currency where the vendor supplied it. The sponsored rows on category pages are bought per market. The advisor form routes to different teams and offers different vendors depending on the region the buyer gives and the region the site detected. A vendor reading the site from an office outside the US, or from a cloud server, is reading an edition its US buyers do not use.

Our modems hold AT&T, T-Mobile and Verizon SIMs in eight US metros, and the carrier address resolves to the metro. Software Advice serves the US edition without a redirect, the sponsored rows are the US ones, and the advisor form behaves as it would for a buyer in that city.

Your listing and the FrontRunners chart

A product profile shows the overall rating, review count, feature ratings, pricing and screenshots, plus an alternatives list. FrontRunners is a quadrant per category computed from reviews, and a vendor's position on it is one of the things buyers look at first. The routine is to open the profile and the category page from the modem each day and record the rating, review count, FrontRunners position, the sponsored rows and your organic position below them.

Reviews here are verified, and the review count moves both ways as verification succeeds or fails. The modem gives you a clean daily reading from a fixed US origin, so a change is a change. Writing reviews yourself or paying outside the platform's own review programme is against the rules and gets a profile flagged; the modem does not change that.

QA of the advisor matching form

The advisor form asks for company size, needs and location, and then either books a call or shows a list of recommended vendors. Vendors who pay for leads want to know whether they appear in that list for buyers in the US metros they target. From the modem, fill the form with realistic but fictional company details up to the point where it would submit a lead, and read which vendors are offered. Then stop. A submitted form becomes a lead that vendors pay for, and manufacturing leads is both unfair to them and against Software Advice's terms.

Repeat the walk-through from two or three of our metros to see whether the recommendation set changes by region. Moves between our cities are free and keep the remaining time, so one modem can cover several readings over a week.

The vendor account from one origin

Vendors manage their listing, lead budget and responses through a vendor portal shared across the Gartner Digital Markets sites. It holds billing details and the platform treats changing login networks as a risk signal. An agency managing portals for several vendors, with their permission, meets verification prompts constantly. Putting each vendor's portal on its own modem gives it one origin, one carrier, one US city, an address held as long as the carrier keeps it, with nobody else on the modem to rotate it.

Monthly plans are $69 on 4G and $79 on 5G with unlimited data. A two-hour test at $2 or $3 lets you confirm the edition and the metro reading before you commit.

The daily routine

Order the modem in a US metro, route a browser profile through it, confirm the US edition loads, record the profile and category figures, walk the advisor form to the last step, and sign in to the portal from the same profile with the address left alone. Keep the volume at a buyer's pace.

Setting up a Software Advice proxy on Dedicated Mobile Proxies

  1. Order a modem in a US metro and choose a carrier.
  2. Confirm Software Advice serves the US edition from the modem.
  3. Record your profile, FrontRunners position and category rows daily.
  4. Walk the advisor form to the final step without submitting.
  5. Sign in to the vendor portal from the same profile, no rotation.

Software Advice proxy questions

Will the site redirect me to a regional edition?

No. The modem's address is a US carrier address, so the US edition loads directly.

Can I submit the advisor form to test lead routing?

No. A submitted form is a paid lead for vendors. Walk to the last step and stop.

Does the modem affect my FrontRunners position?

No. The chart is built from reviews. The modem gives you an accurate reading of it.

One modem for several vendors?

One per vendor, so each portal keeps its own stable origin.
